The Mido Multi-Centerchron was introduced in 1941 and quickly distinguished itself as one of the most innovative chronographs of its era by displaying all chronograph functions—seconds, minutes, and even hours—on centrally mounted hands rather than traditional subdials. This unique “multi-center” layout greatly improved legibility and left the dial open for detailed timing scales such as tachymeters, telemeters, and pulsometers, making it an especially practical tool for pilots and professionals. Its reliability was famously demonstrated in 1947, when Mido equipped aviators on a record-setting round-the-world flight. Produced primarily through the 1940s and 1950s, the Multi-Centerchron became one of Mido’s most important historical models and is now highly regarded by collectors as a technically advanced yet elegantly designed vintage chronograph.
