Introduced in 1950, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox quickly became one of the brand’s most recognizable creations thanks to its practical mechanical alarm complication. Its name—meaning “voice of memory”—speaks to its original purpose: providing a reliable reminder for the modern professional. Early models featured manual-wind calibers like the 489, later transitioning to more refined movements such as the famous Calibre 815, one of the first automatic alarm movements. Over the decades, the Memovox evolved through various dial layouts, case designs, and technical upgrades, including the high-beat calibres of the 1970s and later the Master Control era revivals.
