Pre-owned Panerai Luminor Marina ref PAM01358 (2022) looks, at first glance, like a classic 44mm Luminor. Crown guard, sandwich dial, bold markers. It checks all the usual boxes. But this reference tells a slightly different story. Released around Watches & Wonders 2021, the PAM01358 is part of Panerai’s eSteel lineup. The case and dial are made from eSteel, an alloy incorporating recycled-based materials, and overall about 58% of the watch’s weight comes from recycled sources. In total, roughly 89 grams of this 152-gram watch is built from reclaimed material. It was Panerai’s first serious step toward integrating recycled metals into its core collection. Visually, it doesn’t scream “eco.” The dial is signed “eSteel,” and the rubberized crown and color-matched recycled PET strap hint at the difference, but it still feels like a proper Luminor Marina on the wrist.
