Used Rolex Submariner Ref 16610 Stainless Steel Oyster

Pre-owned Rolex Submariner ref 16610 (1999). This was the last steel Submariner Date to use an aluminum bezel insert, long before Rolex transitioned the series to ceramic. The look is lighter and a bit more utilitarian than modern Subs, which is a big part of the appeal. The black dial is decorated here with white gold Super-LumiNova hour markers, giving it strong legibility without straying from the classic layout. Inside is the caliber 3135, one of the Crown’s most trusty self-winding mechanical movements. A sapphire crystal and 300-meter depth rating keep it true to its dive-watch roots, even if it never sees the water. Eventually replaced by the ceramic-bezel ref. 116610 in 2010, the 16610 represents the last of the traditional Submariners, and that’s exactly why it continues to resonate with collectors today.
